Heritage Highlights of Clevedon
Wednesday 24th June
Today is a lovely day out to the Somerset coast!
We’ll start with a morning talk at the iconic Clevedon Pier, then enjoy free time in Clevedon for lunch, before heading to Clevedon Court (National Trust) for an afternoon visit.
One of the most beautiful and historic piers in England, Clevedon Pier dates back to 1869 and is celebrated for its elegant Victorian design and spectacular coastal views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Lovingly restored, the pier offers a peaceful and nostalgic setting by the sea.
Our visit includes a morning talk, bringing the pier’s fascinating history, engineering, and seaside heritage to life — a wonderful way to begin the day.
Set in a peaceful hillside location above the town, Clevedon Court is a magnificent medieval manor house cared for by the National Trust. The house is renowned for its impressive collection of furniture, tapestries, and decorative arts, all displayed in atmospheric historic rooms.
