Barmouth by Train from Shrewsbury

Tuesday 31st March

Since our visit to Aberdovey on our Cambrian Coast tour with Rob in 2023, I have been looking at ways to take in the beautiful coastline of mid Wales by train.

Following our local pick ups by coach, we will travel up to Shrewsbury train station to catch the direct train to Barmouth at 9:30am.

The Transport for Wales (TfW) train operating on the Cambrian Line between Shrewsbury and Barmouth is a very scenic route. However, please note there may not be a refreshment trolley available. Although there are cafes in Shrewsbury and Barmouth train stations.

Barmouth is southern Snowdonia's most popular seaside resort with breathtaking views of Cardigan Bay and the picturesque harbour. The town's beach, is west facing with a mixture of sand and some shingle. We will arrive at midday in time to explore the seaside, shops and the eateries.

Timings: Leave Ross on Wye 6:30am, Hereford 7:15am., Leominster 7:45am. We will depart and travel back to Leominster 7:00pm, Hereford at 7:30pm and then Ross at 8:00pm.

Costs: Including coach and train travel £59.00 per person
