HOLIDAY - Swiss Alps and the Bernina Express for 9 days

Monday 1st July 

This holiday is based at the wonderful Central Sporthotel in Davos. Included in the holiday is a journey on the breathtaking Bernina Express railway from Filisur, high into the alps and past lakes and glaciers to travel across the border to Tirano, Italy

Day 1 Overnight Stay

Following local pickups, make our way for our hotel in Ashford on half board basis

Day 2 Channel Crossing

Short Channel crossing and on for dinner and an overnight stay in France.

Day 3-7 Switzerland

Continue into Switzerland to the popular high Alpine resort of Davos, for a 5 night stay.

Travel to Klosters, winter holiday destination for the Royal Family and then on to the historic town of Chur. Board the Bernina Express Railway in Filisur and enjoy the journey through the mountains to Italy.  Enjoy a little time at leisure before joining the coach and travelling back to Davos by road. 

A morning excursion to St Moritz. Elegant and chic, it lies in the middle of a lake-dotted landscape and offers one of the sunniest climates in all Switzerland. 

The included 'Davos/Klosters Card' provides discounted travel on local transport.

Day 8 Departure

Depart Davos and travel on to France for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9 Homeward Bound

Short Channel crossing before returning home.

The Central Sporthotel

The Central Sporthotel is a 4 star hotel located in the centre of Davos. The hotel has 97 comfortable rooms with TV, hairdryer and all but one room having a terrace or balcony.

Most rooms are "Austrian twins" i.e. 1 bed frame but with 2 separate mattresses and 2 separate sets of bedding. This is very common in Alpine Europe and works well for customers requiring both twin and double room accommodation. Single rooms are twin/double for sole occupancy. 

There is also a bar with plenty of seating, restaurant, indoor swimming pool and wellness area, as well as a relaxing terrace.

Breakfast is a cold buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs. Dinner is 3 courses with a choice of 2 per course. The choice is made in the evening for the following night. A set menu is served on day of arrival. 

Each week on one night a Swiss farmers buffet is served in place of usual evening meal for stays of a minimum of 5 nights.

MOBILITY - Davos sits in the Swiss Alps and gradients will be encountered when exploring the town. The area where the hotel is located is on a gradient. There is level entrance into the hotel and a lift serves all floors with the exception of the wellness area which is accessed via stairs. UK and France overnight hotels will be confirmed nearer the time, but will be of equal standard.
