This short midweek break enables you to explore the area at a relaxed leisurely pace with the hassle of making booking arrangements taken out of your hands.
Recently re branded Llandrindod Wellness, local residents recognise that natural health and wellness are increasingly important in today’s world. Even their traditional town crest features Hygieia, the Goddess of Health.
So Llandrindod Wellness reflects the quality of life that you can enjoy here. No congestion or pollution issues and there is a real sense of community and neighbourliness too.
Whether you want a relaxing break to recuperate or to indulge in something more active, like walking or cycling in beautiful countryside, Llandrindod has it all.
The first section of the Central Wales line from Knighton to Llandrindod Wells was opened in 1865 and the whole line completed in 1868, giving a through connection from Shrewsbury to Swansea. Llandrindod was now within easy reach of the urban centres of the North West, the midlands and South Wales and visitors began to come in large numbers.
Between 1865 and 1914 the appearance of Llandrindod Wells was that of a boom town. Hotels and boarding houses sprang up along the new streets and shops were opened to meet the needs of visitors and residents. Many of the private houses were built on the grand scale characteristic of the era.
Many of these buildings still survive today, so if you would like to find out more about Llandrindod Wellness, why not come and see for yourself on the Llandrindod Wellness break……
Arrive on the Heart of Wales line after lunch and check into the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells for your 3 night stay with Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.
At 2pm head to reception and meet Tour Guide Rob from Exploring Mid Wales for a gentle (if you wish) walking tour of Llandrindod Wells.
Following your tour you will have time before your evening meal at the hotel and then free time to enjoy at leisure.
This morning after breakfast, head to reception again to meet Rob from Exploring Mid Wales for a tour with breathtaking scenery.
The Elan Valley offers outstanding opportunities to explore an area that is wild and remote, yet intimate and beautiful. Your guided walk explores some of the “hidden secrets” of the Elan Valley estate. You will discover more of the woodland, the wildlife and the reasons why the area was chosen for the dams by Birmingham Corporation. The walk samples wild moorland and sessile oak woodlands, lakeside paths and a tearoom!
After breakfast this morning, spend time relaxing in the Rock Spa based at the hotel.
Here you can swim in the 18m heated swimming pool with thermal whirlpool spa and cleanse your system in the heat of the sauna and steam room. If that is not relaxing enough, we have also included a 55 minute spa treatment for you to enjoy.
There is also a smart, air-conditioned gymnasium, fully equipped with the latest aerobic and cardiovascular equipment.
Just before your evening meal this evening, you can even fit in time to buy any last minute presents of local produce or souvenirs to take home for friends, family or just keep for yourself as a reminder of your relaxing holiday.
Following breakfast and check out, return home on the Heart of Wales line and tell all of your friends, family, colleagues about your Llandrindod Wellness Break.
